Quality Assurance (QA) is a section in an institution or industry responsible for ensuring the quality of the products and services delivered to the customers. This must be matched to the required standards imposed by the government or by the company itself. These standards usually come from the International Standards Organization and the American National Standards Institute Standards. That is why, most community colleges, vocational schools and even big universities in South Carolina, especially in Columbia, offer training programs for those who want to continue their studies and become certified in quality assurance. Some QA training schools offer 2-year certification or diploma programs while other offer 4-year bachelor’s degree. Other still have a graduate programs on quality assurance.

Remember, to be a quality assurance person is very easy, but the tasks you are going to handle when you are already in the real arena inside the industries are rather difficult. Why is that so? Because, only a high school diploma or GED and a little experience on quality assurance are necessary. But, when one sets oneself to work in the industries, that where the fun, challenge and pressure begin. First, the quality assurance is the front line of the companies next to the employee that works on the parts of the products. Second, the employer with do his best to make sure that orders must be delivered on time. During peak seasons, the quality assurance is the most pressured employee in the company. They can even receive complaints from here and there. The third and the last is, being a quality assurance staff is fun, because if you have rendered your fullest potential to the company and the boss was impressed, a prospect reward will be given to you apart from high salary that you received.
